Hot compost is fast. It will be complete in perhaps 25 days.

The heat destroys pathogens, bugs, molds and weed seeds. Not much can survive 65 degree C for a few hours, It will burn your hand if you plunge your hand in.

The trick is to have a good mix of dry and green waste. Just add water so it is wet but not boggy.
Then turn it over every three or four days. This may be difficult for some but a team can do it well.
